Anita Berber - Beazy

Anita Berber

She was the glittering Icon of the last century 20s in Berlin - Anita Berber.

As Cabaret performer, muse, provocateur, erotic dancer, theatre actress, feminist and especially eccentric courtesan she was losing herself in every possible earthly seduction and delight. All the fleur of Golden Age and its frivolous, fascinating for artists, musicians and Bon Vivants spirit of the first Berlin metropolis was reflecting in her provocative appearance; In a way the post-modern Berlin does.

Since 2013 reincarnates Anita Berber her glorious spirit into Here and Now. Through the Bar/Club Events and authentic Cabarets, Burlesque shows, abstract Readings, DJ Richie Hawtin’s-Sake degustation, and top-secret hosting of the legendary Pete Doherty concert this place reached its modern and mondän ambience. From the very first days it was attracting hedonistic night birds with its magic atmosphere, curated wide palette of delicious self-produced cocktails and good electronic music; Anita Berber is here again to shine bright in the skies of vague Berlin's nightlife.

The concept of the bar and club was created in the collaboration with the interior designer Felix Pahnke with the goal to preserve the charm of an old industrial loft. The late XIX century building, which was used by the small metalworking factories, has a typical architectonics of the industrialization period in Berlin, also known as Gründerzeit.

The backdrop buffet consists of the old industrial windows, which are also used for the splitting of indoors spaces. The facade of the counter is furnished with the old radiators. Dark wooden elements on the benches, timber blinds on the windows and separated wooden panels are complementing the rough look of the metal elements.

Anita Berber is depicted in the abstract floating pose over the DJ Boost in the big painting of the Berlin-based artist Markus Manowski.

The room becomes its charming appearance though the light scenography. The diverse moods and atmospheres are created night by night with the old slide projectors. All the design decisions were independently implemented.

The place has 2 space: mainstage with the vintage bar, sound system, leather couches and the backroom with white walls, industrial and vintage decorations and kitchen. The place provides over 400 wall visuals of different topics and moods, as well as club decorations, lasers, smoke machine, light system of any colour spectrum etc. Anita Berber was a shooting location for the series Berlin Station.
